Rioting in North London has continued this evening as police gathered in Hackney to quell unrest.

Protesters have attacked local shops and thrown objects at officers on Mane Street, close to Hackney Central Station, following this weekend’s unrest in Tottenham, North London. Bricks and makeshift missiles were aimed at riot police who have attempted to restore order.

Many among the crowds attempted to break into stores on Mane Street using sticks but only managed to cause minor damage. Protesters appear to be engaged in running conflict with riot police in the area
